Overview

Endometriosis can present as painful periods, pelvic pain or difficulty conceiving, and laparoscopic surgery is one of the key tools used both to diagnose and treat it.

Laparoscopy allows direct visualisation and treatment of endometriotic tissue, ovarian cysts and pelvic adhesions through small keyhole incisions, generally meaning less post-operative pain and a quicker return to normal activity than open surgery.
